Most poultry feeds are based on legumes and cereals. The digestion of these feedstuffs is often problematic, as they contain high levels of non-starch polysaccharides (NSP’s) and galacto-oligo saccharides. Those cause an increased digesta viscosity and excessive fermentation in the lower gut.
Loders Croklaan developed enzyme profiles and cultures to overcome these problems and thus improve the nutritional value of rations containing legumes and cereals.
Apart from developing ingredients to improve nutritional value, Loders Croklaan developed a highly digestible, vegetable oil as an effective anti-dust agent in poultry concentrates and premixes. It is a welcome alternative to mineral oils (paraffin oils), which are non-digestible and which have become increasingly controversial due to the European dioxin affair.
Within poultry application, Loders Croklaan focuses on broilers and layers, but turkeys, ducks and other poultry are also included.
